Mirra Andreeva, 16, has been handed a $8000 fine after two unsportsmanlike conducts in a Wimbledon round-of-16 loss to Madison Keys, via James Gray. On Monday, Andreeva received a code violation earlier in the match against Keys.
Then in what turned out to be the final game of the match, Andreeva was hit with another code violation and she automatically lost a point. That gave Keys a match point, which the American converted to beat Andreeva 3-6 7-6 (4) 6-2.
Andreeva was furious after the second code violation and she refused to shake the chair umpire's hand after the match.

Andreeva defended herself: I didn't intentionally throw the racket
In the final game, Andreeva argued that she didn't intentionally throw the racket but that it got out of her because she slipped on the grass.
After the match, Andreeva was instantly asked to address the incident. "For me it's a controversial point because I'm not sure if -- I don't know which decision was right. She's the umpire. She's the one who makes the decision.
But, honestly, I didn't have any intention to throw the racquet. I slid. Honestly, I thought that I will fall forward. Maybe it did look like I threw the racket. I don't know. I didn't see any videos yet. But that was her decision to make, so she made this decision.

Actually when I was younger, I saw that, well, he was struggling also. I'm not the only one who also struggles. I thought that I just need to wait a little bit and it will go away. But it doesn't work like this. You just have to work on yourself.
