Qinwen Zheng shows her singing skills after her triumph in Zhengzhou
by LORENZO CIOTTI
Qinwen Zheng won the title of the most important tournament of the week, that of Zhengzhou, WTA 500 on hard court, stage of the Asian Swing.
The Chinese tennis player born in 2002 beat the number 7 seed in the draw, Barbora Krejcikova, in the final. Qinwen fought back against the former Roland Garros champion with the result 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.
For Zheng it is the most important title of her career, the second after the WTA 250 in Palermo won against Jasmine Paolini. The Czech tennis player started off very well in the final, but in the end it was her nerves and tiredness that determined it.
In the third set the two players, despite good percentages of firsts, were unable to hold a break. Only in the final, after the 4-4 in the third set, Qinwen managed to be cold and solid when she went to serve for the match and converted the only match point she had on her serve.
At the end of the match, during the awards ceremony, the very young tennis player performed a song in Chinese, entertaining the crowd and showing off her artistic skills!
