With Nick Kyrgios there is always reason to have fun and talk about tennis! The strong Australian tennis player, out of the Malborune Major due to the injury that has kept him away from the courts since the eve of Wimbledon 2023, commented on this edition of the Happy Slam for Eurosport.
Nick, at the end of the final won by Jannik Sinner against Daniil Medvedev, enjoyed joking with the young Italian.
The player from Canberra, who has followed the competition in these two weeks as a technical commentator, made a very particular request to the new winner of the Melbourne Slam.
"Hey Jannik, well done, you are a Grand Slam champion. My question is: how much can I pay you to be my coach and be able to win a Slam?" asked the 28-year-old Australian.
Sinner, laughing,answered: "Difficult question! What is certain is that everyone misses you. You are the type of player you don't see around so often. Your style of play, your way of behaving on the court, we need of tennis players like you on the Tour. I hope you come back soon and see you again as soon as possible. I miss you and also you are a potential Grand Slam champion – I think you know that!"
Kyrgios mocks Sinner: "If there's any celebration planned, send me an invitation!"
The Australian responded to the beautiful words of the world number 4, thus closing the amusing scene: "Thank you, it's fantastic. And if there's any celebration planned, send me an invitation. I'll come and have a couple of drinks with you!"
"Thanks, I know who to call!" added Sinner added.
