German rising stars Maximilian Marterer and Rudolf Molleker have received the remaining two Munich wildcards. Marterer, 23, is set to make his fourth consecutive main draw appearance on the clay of Munich. The German failed to make it past the Hamburg qualifying event in 2014 but debuted at the tournament in 2016.
Marterer, ranked at No. 102 in the world, didn't impress in his first two Hamburg appearances as he picked up back-to-back tournaments exits at the tournament in 2016 and 2017 respectively. However, former world No. 45 Marterer had a notable Munich campaign last year, having reached the semi-final before losing to fellow compatriot Philipp Kohlschreiber.
On the other side, world No. 168 Molleker is set for a Munich debut. The 18-year-old tried to make the Munich main draw through the qualifying event last year but fell short in his attempt as he was beaten in the qualifying first round by Norbert Gombos. The Munich event is set to be held from April 29 - May 05.
