World No. 41 Albert Ramos-Vinolas says it's sad to see what's happening in the world but he is giving his best effort to enjoy his stay at home with his pregnant wife. The Tour has been suspended since March 12 due to the coronavirus pandemic and it appears there won't be any tennis events being held until at least August.
"In my case, and I am very sincere, I took this period in the best possible way. This is the 10th year that I am in the top 100 and travel 30 to 35 weeks each year," Ramos-Vinolas told AS, as revealed On We Love Tennis France.
"So I took the opportunity to be with my wife since we are in a situation where we are expecting a child. I was able to enjoy the pregnancy and also be calm at home. It is clear that everything that is happening is very sad, but it came to me at a time that was very good on a personal level because I was able to stay at home in a special moment of my life." The 32-year-old Spaniard has earned $7,630,943 over the course of his career and he has no problem paying his stuff during the Tour suspension.
"It is obvious that we have no income and that we continue to pay the teams, the coaches and the physical coaches. We are like a small business. These are difficult times and we hope they will pass as soon as possible, but in my case, I had a good career so I cannot complain because I pay my staff during this crisis," Ramos-Vinolas said.
