Nick Kyrgios is through to his first Major semi-final at Wimbledon! Nick played in two quarter-finals in 2014 and 2015, and he could not repeat that for eight years. The Aussie looks good this year at the All England Club, and he is the first player from his country in a Major semi-final after Lleyton Hewitt at the 2005 US Open.
Nick used a favorable draw and toppled Cristian Garin 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 in the quarter-final in two hours and 13 minutes. Kyrgios fired 35 winners and 29 unforced errors and claimed eight points more than his rival. Garin gave his best in his first Major quarter-final, hitting 30 winners and 23 unforced errors to challenge the better grass-courter, especially in the third set.
The Chilean had the opportunity for a much more favorable result, converting one out of nine break chances and losing serve three times from Nick's six break points.

Cristian made a perfect start and broke Nick at love in the encounter's opening game for his lone return game.
The Chilean served well in games two and four to build a 3-1 advantage and settle into a fine rhythm. Kyrgios seized the third break chance in game six after Garin's loose backhand to lock the result at 3-3 after swift 18 minutes.
The Aussie denied two break points in game nine and held after a couple of deuces to remain on the positive side. Nick gained a boost and broke at love at 5-4 after Cristian's wayward forehand for 6-4 in 37 minutes. Garin netted a routine forehand at 1-2 in set number two and sprayed a volley mistake to lose serve at love and push the rival in front.
Kyrgios saved three break points in games five and seven to stay in front and landed an ace down the T line at 5-3 to wrap up the set and move closer to the finish line. Garin produced six comfortable holds in the third set to keep the pressure on the other side.
He had a massive chance to move in front in game six, creating three break points and squandering them to keep Kyrgios in contention. The set went into a tie break, and Cristian forged a 5-3 lead. Nick climbed back to 5-5, and Cristian missed a chance to pass him at the net in the 11th point.
Returning at 6-5, Kyrgios sealed the deal after Garin's loose backhand for a massive celebration and a career-best result. Nick will face Rafael Nadal or Taylor Fritz in the semi-final.
