In the last two days, two players have been suspended by the Tennis Integrity Unit. One is Nicolas Kicker and the other is Federico Coria. However, while Kicker was found guilty of fixing two matches, Coria's ban stemmed from a different reason altogether.
Coria, younger brother of the former world no. 3 Guillermo Coria, didn't follow the Tennis Programme rules, as he didn't report the several offers he got from bettors: first in July 2015, when he was asked to lose a set in a match at the F17 Futures tournament in Sassuolo, Italy, and in August 2015 when he was offered to lose a number of matches throughout the year.
In both cases, he would have received money. Coria, however, didn't accept the offers. In the TIU investigation, he didn't offer significant help as his mobile phone was reset to factory settings unintentionally. On Twitter, Guillermo Coria defended his brother, saying that he didn't want to let TIU know about the incident because he was being threatened.
