David Goffin reflects on getting tested by Daniel Elahi Galan Riveros

Belgian tennis star David Goffin was happy with the fact that he didn't give up and managed to avoid a shock loss against Colombia's Daniel Elahi Galan Riveros. Goffin, ranked at No. 11 in the world, came from a set down to beat world No.

194 Galan Riveros 3-6 6-3 6-3 at the inaugural Davis Cup Finals. The Goffin win secured the victory over Colombia as earlier in the day Belgium's Steve Darcis beat Santiago Giraldo of Colombia in the opening match of the tie.

"The challenge was to fight against myself, it was not easy. Sometimes you have to fight, sometimes you have the flow and you fly. I’m happy the way I fought, I didn’t give up, because that’s the most important thing because I’m playing for my country," Goffin said after overcoming Galan Riveros, per the Davis Cup Finals website.

Goffin broke Galan Riveros twice in the first set but paid the price for struggling on his own serve as the Colombian claimed three breaks in the opener. After losing the first set, Goffin improved his level as he dropped no more service games, collected one break in the second set and two more in the third set to clinch a comeback win.
