Feliciano Lopez's career has officially come to an end following the Spaniard's Mallorca loss. Lopez, 41, bowed out of Mallorca in the quarterfinal stage as Yannick Hanfmann beat the Spaniard 6-2 6-4. In his final tournament, Lopez went out with dignity as he defeated Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson before falling short to 48th-ranked Hanfmann.
On January 1st, Lopez announced he was planning to have his little farewell in 2023 and play a couple of tournaments that had a special place in his heart. This week in Mallorca, Lopez retired in front of his home fans by playing a tournament staged on his favorite surface.
