World no. 1 served for the set in game nine and held at 15 to build two sets to love advantage and move closer to the finish line. Novak broke in the third set's third game with a backhand volley lob winner that pushed him closer to the finish line.
Djokovic confirmed the lead with a service winner in the fourth game and fired another two games later for a hold at love and 4-2. Miomir placed a forehand long in the seventh game to experience another break and fall 5-2 behind.
Novak served for the victory in game eight and experienced a break that propelled the clash. Kecmanovic reduced the deficit to 5-4 before Djokovic landed a service winner in game ten to emerge at the top and enter the second week.
