The 8th seed Andrey Rublev is through to his ninth Major quarter-final at the US Open following a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Jack Draper. Andrey needed two hours and 44 minutes to topple the young gun at Louis Armstrong Stadium, reaching his fifth quarter-final from the previous six Majors.
Draper fired 18 aces, but his second serve let him down. He dropped 40% of the points in his games, offering Rublev 17 break chances. The Russian seized four and lost serve two times after dropping 21 points in his games. Both players had more winners than unforced errors in a high-quality contest, and Andrey overpowered Jack with a 45-25 ratio.
Rublev denied a break point in the encounter's first game and broke his rival at 2-1 to forge an early advantage. With a boost on his side, Andrey produced three commanding holds and secured the opener in game nine for 6-3 in 35 minutes.

Jack was 11 from 11 after landing in the first serve, but the second let him down, trailing and having no chance to pull the break back. The Briton survived two challenging service games in the second set, staying on the positive side and waiting for an opportunity on the return.
Andrey squandered four break chances in the third game and lost serve for the first and only time three games later, falling 4-2 behind. Jack denied a couple of break points in the next one, moving 5-2 up and wrapping up the set with a hold at 15 in game nine, leveling the overall score after an hour and 22 minutes.
With a boost on his side, the Briton delivered another break at the beginning of the third set and forged a 2-0 advantage. Rublev broke back in the fourth game, creating more opportunities at 3-2. Draper saved them and leveled the score at 3-3, eager to remain competitive.
The young gun squandered a 40-015 lead in the eighth game, experiencing a costly break and falling 5-3 behind. Rublev served for the set in game nine and held after an ace to move a set away from the triumph. The Russian served well in all five service games in the fourth set, and the Briton failed to follow that pace.
Jack got broken at love in the fifth game and faced two match points at 3-5. Draper denied them and held to prolong the action before Rublev sealed the deal with a massive forehand in game ten.
