Alize Lim reveals Andy Murray was smashing his rackets in the parking lot following an absolutely devastating Paris Masters loss to Alex de Minaur. Murray, who had a rough couple of months after Wimbledon, was hoping to turn the page in Paris and make a solid run.

Instead, Murray's Paris run ended in a brutal way as the Briton was up by a double break in the third set and even had a match point on his serve before de Minaur stunningly came back to win 7-6 (5) 4-6 7-5. For Murray, it was just yet another very disappointing and heartbreaking loss in 2023.

Lim, a former world No 135, worked for Eurosport as a presenter during this year's Paris Masters. “There is an image that struck me a little and chilled me – it was Andy Murray who broke his racket after the match point against Alex De Minaur, and I was in the mixed zone, ready to do the interview of the winner at that moment, and I saw him pass and there, truly, his disappointment pierced my heart.

I heard him break his rackets, behind, in the parking lot. And it really showed his motivation and how important it is to him. It also brought back some very bad memories for me too," Lim revealed on Eurosport, via Tennis365.

Murray opened up after his brutal Paris loss

In the second part of the 2023 season, there was just one ATP event in which Murray managed to collect two wins in a row. In Paris, Murray's series of early exits continued and the former world No 1 admitted that lately he hasn't been enjoying his tennis.

“I’m not really enjoying it just now in terms of how I feel on the court and how I’m playing. The last five, six months haven’t been that enjoyable, so I need to try to find some of that enjoyment back because playing a match like that, there’s not much positivity there.

When I play a good point, I’m not really getting behind myself and then, in the important moments, that will to win and fight that has always been quite a big, big part of my game," Murray admitted after his Paris exit.

Meanwhile, Murray's 2023 season isn't over as he is set to represent Great Britain at the upcoming Davis Cup Final 8 in Malaga.
