Furious Dan Evans goes on expletive-filled rant during Aslan Karatsev clash

British tennis star Dan Evans went on a expletive-filled rant during his Sydney semifinal clash against Aslan Karatsev. The new ATP rules say bathroom breaks can only be taken at the end of a set and they can only last a maximum of five minutes if a player opts to change his outfit.

Aslan Karatsev opted to change his outfit and he broke Evans in the Briton's first service game of the third set. Evans did manage to get the break back but he lost his serve again in the eighth game as Karatsev served out in the ninth game for a 6-3 6-7 (13) 6-3.

Evans thought Karatsev took longer than the rule allowed. "That's a f****** embarrassment to the sport, embarrassing. F*** him," Evans yelled, as revealed by Nathan Salt. "You DIDN'T apply the rules. You didn't!"

Evans then unloaded on the supervisor

"You gives sit there every week and do nothing," Evans continued.

"No-one on this tour plays tennis without running. You sit there on your walkie-talkie, why do you have that? I want an answer. Have you got an answer? How long was he off the court? Tell me, I want to know. "Five minutes to change his shorts and t-shirt? Five minutes? Good effort." Before the match, Evans said it would be nice if he and Andy Murray could meet in an all-British final in Sydney.

Murray beat Reilly Opelka in the opening semifinal but Evans failed to beat Karatsev in the remaining semifinal. “It would be nice to play [Andy] obviously, but yeah, we both have tough matches,” Evans said after his quarterfinal win.

“It’s great that there is two [British players] in the semis. Hopefully we can both win." After overcoming Evans in three sets, Karatsev simply stated it was a tough match. “It was a tough match against Evans,” said Karatsev. “He’s a guy who doesn’t give you any free points at all”.
