Felix Auger-Aliassime is living a bad moment on the court, despite he still occupying the 12th position in the ATP ranking. The Canadian has not achieved any significant results this season. With 13 victories and 12 defeats, Felix obtained the semifinal in Doha as his best result, in which he surrendered to Daniil Medvedev.
The last disappointment was the unexpected defeat in four sets in the first round of Wimbledon against the lucky loser Michael Mmoh, number 118 in the ranking in his first victory at Wimbledon. Boris Becker, an admirer of the Canadian tennis player, also spoke about Auger-Aliassime's difficult form.
The former German tennis player, in an exchange of questions and answers with his followers on his Instagram profile, dealt with some topics concerning the world of tennis, including the conditions of the current number 12 in the world.
The bad season of Auger-Aliassime
When asked by a user: "Why do you think Felix Auger's form has collapsed so much?" Becker was unable to give an answer as to the reasons for the Canadian's collapse. He told: "Good question… something went wrong on the way to heaven, only he knows!
I'm a big fan of him and I hope he finds out soon what happened." The one he lost to Mmoh was the first match for Auger-Aliassime after his Roland Garros exit against Fabio Fognini on May 29th. In fact, the Canadian had to recover from the tendon problem and at Wimbledon he played with duct tape on his left knee.
In the last year, especially in the Slams, his results have been quite disappointing: Auger-Aliassime did not go beyond the first round at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships, in the previous edition, at the Roland Garros 2023, in addition to the second round at the US Open 2022 and obtained the fourth round at the 2023 Australian Open as his best result. A season below expectations therefore that of the Canadian, capable of reaching 5 finals in 2022, four of which he won.
