Toni Nadal congratulates Felix Auger-Aliassime

Toni Nadal congratulated Felix Auger-Aliassime on helping Canada win its first-ever Davis Cup title. After Denis Shapovalov gave Canada an early lead over Australia, Auger-Aliassime defeated Alex de Minaur in the following match to seal the win for Canada.

In Malaga, Auger-Aliassime was absolutely fantastic for Canada as he went 3-0 in his singles matches. Uncle Toni, who has been working with Auger-Aliassime for the past year and a half, congratulated Auger-Aliassime and said it's a pleasure to work with him.

"Congratulations @felixaliassime for your contribution to the first Davis Cup for Canada. And congratulations for an amazing year that led you to the ATP Nitto Finals in Torino last week. It is a pleasure to collaborate with you and your team," Toni Nadal wrote on Instagram.

Auger-Aliassime led Canada to its greatest Davis Cup moment

Canada had talented players in the past as well but never managed to win the Davis Cup.

Auger-Aliassime, 22, and 23-year-old Shapovalov wanted to change that and this year they accomplished their goal. “The emotions are tough to describe. Denis and I grew up together, dreaming of these types of stage, dreaming of winning the Davis Cup.

It’s a great moment for myself and for the country," Auger-Aliassime said. Pospisil, 32, has been playing in the Davis Cup for the past decade and a half. This year, his goal finally became a reality. “We’ve been dreaming about this for several years.

To be here as world champions, I’m speechless. These guys are not kids any more. They’ve been crushing it. You can’t win this event without tremendous team chemistry, going forwards as one unit, and all these guys represent exactly that," Pospisil said.

Auger-Aliassime and Shapovalov are one of the most talented players from the younger generation. Going forward, they will certainly be motivated to achieve more Davis Cup success.
