Roland Garros: Alcaraz drives Musetti crazy, but the Italian wins a super point!

It was the most awaited challenge of the round of 16 on Philippe-Chatrier and the two are certainly not disappointing expectations in terms of the beauty and intensity of the exchanges. Carlos Alcaraz and Lorenzo Musetti played a great match, on the central Paris.

The Spaniard dominated the Italian, to get the quarterfinals of the Roland Garros 2023. After the first two games that saw him in a bit of trouble and contracted, the Spanish tennis player took full control of the points and put the Italian talent in serious difficulty, who tried to keep up with the number one in the world.

In the second set both started a wonderful exchange: the Italian tried in every way to break the resistance of the Iberian, who took and saved practically everything. In the end a tweener from Alcaraz wasn't particularly effective and Musetti closed a tiring 15 with two smashes

A completely different match from the previous one in Hamburg, won by the Italian tennis star. Carlos, with a solid and sometimes unplayable game, didn't allow his opponent to express his best game and worry about his match plan.

Although he sometimes lost his serve during the match, the Spaniard was able to impose himself quite clearly on Musetti, who finished his Roland Garros adventure in the round of 16. The number one seed in the main draw is handling the pressure well of being one of the big favorites to win the final and will now have to prepare for even more complicated challenges.

The next opponent will most likely be the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, before (if everything were to be confirmed) crossing Novak Djokovic. Here is the video released by Tennis TV:

Alcaraz, in the post match interview, explained: "I don't have much free time, I usually go to training and I'm only focused on that.

I have my own routine off the pitch and before competitions, I'm very close to my childhood friends in Murcia and spend a lot of time there. I am aware that when it comes to playing I have to avoid mixing my free time too much with my career.

However I must say that for me it is essential to have my family here in Paris, they allow me to disconnect and avoid talking only about tennis. I'm also fortunate that I consider my team as part of my family and this gives me balance and peace during tournaments."
