By winning his first career title, young American tennis star Ben Shelton reached a new record. He and his father Bryan Shelton became the fourth father-son duo in ATP history to win at least one ATP title, following the young American's triumph in Tokyo.

In addition to Ben Shelton and his father, Sebastian and Petra Korda, Ramanathan and Ramesh Krishnan and Taylor and Phil Dent also achieved this milestone. Bryan Shelton won for two times the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships, on the grass court of Newport, in 1991 and in 1992.

He was ranked no. 55 in 1992. "We are many and strong. Personally, I aim to lead my country first in the Davis Cup and next season at the Olympics. My favorite American tennis player has always been my father. If I have to go beyond the family circle, then I say Andy Roddick," said Ben Shelton.

Shelton expressed on Sinner and the Big 3

During an interview with the Italian Newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Shelton talked about many topics, among wich is rival Jannik Sinner and te Big 3 Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

The young North American star explained: "Sinner is only a year older than me and has achieved a lot. He leads a fantastic generation of young Italians and is among the top 5 of the next few years. Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul? We are many and strong.

Personally, I aim to lead my country first in the Davis Cup and next season at the Olympics. My favorite American tennis player has always been my father. If I have to go beyond the family circle, then I say Andy Roddick. I studied Nadal and tried to steal some secrets from him.

But my favorite has always been Roger. Novak Djokovic? In three years he will still be a top 5, he will still win tournaments."
