Carlos Alcaraz made the Mexico City crowd go absolutely crazy with an insane shot as even world No 1 Iga Swiatek was left in awe by the Spaniard's unbelievable shot. On Wednesday night, two-time Grand Slam champion Alcaraz took on Tommy Paul at the TennisFest GNP.
Midway through the fifth game of the second set, Paul was at the net when he hit a great deep volley. In many cases, that would have been enough for Paul to win the point. But Alcaraz miraculously returned the shot and it went past Paul.
Paul was left in awe by what he just witnessed as he applauded and bowed to the Spaniard. When Swiatek woke up and saw the video, she was as impressed as everyone else.

Alcaraz defeated Paul in Mexico City
In front of fully packed stands at Plaza de Toros, Alcaraz saw off Paul 7-6 6-3.
Alcaraz is pretty much a fan favorite wherever he goes and he received very strong support from the Mexican crowd. Now, Alcaraz will focus on improving his game. After suffering a 3-6 2-6 loss to Novak Djokovic in the ATP Finals semifinal, Alcaraz vowed to analyze the match and see improve certain areas of his game.
"Well, this match helped me a lot coming into the pre-season. Right now I know all the things I have to improve if I want to be there, if I want to beat the best player in the world. With Juan Carlos, we have to talk about the pre-season, what we have to practice, what we have to do.
Obviously I'll rewatch the match to see my weakness, just to improve it and be a better player. I will forget all the matches that I played against him, the Wimbledon final, the Cincinnati, Roland Garros, and I'm going to focus on this match because I felt like I have to improve a lot of things if I want to stay at his level. That's what I going to think in the pre-season," Alcaraz said.
