Roland Garros 2022: Rafael Nadal vs Casper Ruud's HIGHLIGHTS

Rafael Nadal won his fourteenth final on as many plays at Roland Garros and posted the 22nd Grand Slam title, now two trophies behind Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. At the end of the year he will certainly remain at the top of this very important ranking, perhaps paired with the Serbian (if he were to manage to win the remaining two).

Also considering the women, again in the Open Era, the Iberian has reached the quota of Steffi Graff and is just one distance away from Serena Williams, who holds the top of this ranking. This is the 92nd career title for the Majorcan, just off the podium given Jimmy Connors' 109 overall, Federer's 103 and Ivan Lendl's 94 (therefore not far).
Rafa is definitely the king of clay, the only one capable of raising at least one trophy for 19 consecutive seasons (the first in 2004 in Sopot for a long series that has never been interrupted).

His streak in Paris remains impressive, with only 3 games lost in total. At 36 years and 2 days he became the third oldest player to win a Grand Slam, behind his friend Roger (36 years and 6 months in Australia) and Ken Rosewall, even 37 years and 2 months.

The Spaniard, however, can boast the primacy of the oldest player to triumph over Philippe Chatrier, given that the top was held by Andres Gimeno with 34 years and 10 months in 1972.
