Hubert Hurkacz has reached his sixth career semifinal in the ATP Masters 1000 at the Shanghai tournament. After an complicated start and and losing the first set, Hubert overturned the match and beat the surprise Hungarian Fabian Marozsan, defeated with the result of 4-6 6-1 6-3.

After the match Hurkacz made interesting statements. He said: "I am very satisfied with my performance, I put a lot of effort into getting to this tournament well and I managed to move forward. Today was a really tough challenge, very complicated, but I overcame it.

Now I look forward to face the semi-finals." Hurkacz talked about doing very well in these types of tournaments and continued: "In the past but usually I always do quite well in these types of events. Even when I came out early in the 1000m I always struggled, I think this year in various experiences.

In this tournament all the best played and there was great competition, so I am satisfied and happy to have made it this far. Lots of three-set and battle matches? I think it helps me, in the end there is a lot of time to rest between matches and I think that winning in three sets can give you great strength mentally.

Both Korda and Shelton are new to the tour and we are talking about really strong tennis players, I would say fantastic. They are very good at serving and difficult to deal with."

Hubert Hurkacz was also number 9 in the world rankings, participated in the ATP Finals and was part of the Top-10 for some time. After this week he is back in the Top 15 and could still move up in the tournament.
