Badosa, Tsitsipas didn't get to play mixed doubles at Wimbledon
In the summer, Badosa and Tsitsipas signed up for the Wimbledon mixed doubles.
Unfortunately for them, their mixed doubles debut didn't happen at Wimbledon after Badosa was forced to retire her singles second-round match due to a back injury. "No I won't be able [to]. The injury is the same as I have been struggling the past weeks.
It's the stress fracture. I tried my best to try to play here, but yesterday when I woke up I already, after my first-round match, I felt it again. It's a little bit worse. I will need a few days off and talk to my team and see what I do in the next days and the next weeks," Badosa said after retiring injured in her Wimbledon singles match.
Later, Tsitsipas was asked about Badosa being unable to play in mixed doubles. “Mixed [doubles] is not a thing anymore, thank God. I prefer to live. It never crossed my mind that I would be doing all three in a single event, but I also see it from the bright side.
You like tennis so much, you want to be in these Slams for as long as possible. You want to challenge yourself in singles, doubles, mixed doubles. I personally like mixed doubles," Tsitsipas said after their Wimbledon mixed doubles withdrawal.
