Stefanos Tsitsipas is urging the Greek community in Australia to stand behind his Spanish girlfriend Paula Badosa and support her as one of their own.
In Australia, Tsitsipas feels like at home as there is a large Greek community and they always make sure to support the top-ranked Greek male tennis player as best as they can. The support Tsitsipas receives from Greek fans in Australia is on full display during the Australian Open as Melbourne has the largest Greek community.
Ahead of this year's Australian Open, Tsitsipas is hoping his girlfriend Badosa can receive the same treatment from his own fans.
Tsitsipas to the Greek community: Give Badosa the same love, support
"She [Paula Badosa] has been a very important part of my year and one that has brought me a lot of joy, a lot of confidence in my everyday life. She is a great support, Paula. I've built a very good relationship with her, which is extremely important and she is my No. 1 fan and I am her No. 1 fan. We carry each other," Tsitsipas told 2GB.
"I would like to see the Greek people support her. There isn't such big of a Spanish community in Australia, so if you guys see Paula, just make sure you support her and give her the same love and encouragement that you have been giving to me."

Since officially confirming their relationship in early June, Tsitsipas and Badosa have been very open about their goals. So far, both have said a couple of times that winning a Grand Slam and reaching the world No. 1 ranking together would be a dream come true.
After struggling with injuries in the second part of 2023, Tsitsipas and Badosa will be hoping to start their 2024 seasons well. It remains to be seen how well Tsitsipas and Badosa can do in Australia and if they can achieve their goal of becoming Grand Slam champions together.
