Tennis fans have sharply attacked the new champions who are dominating the WTA Tours, at the same time saying that none of the said champions are remotely close to Serena Williams. This harsh reaction from fans came after Iga Swiatek's sensational elimination from the US Open against Jelena Ostapenko in the fourth round at Flushing Meadows.

A user, for example, wrote: "There's really no one close to Serena Williams and the great Novak. These new champions are just jokers." Another one added: "Great game by Ostapenko, literally demolished the world #1 in the third set.

Iga failed to improvise and she did not prepare enough for the hard court season. As though a 0-3 record was not bad, 0- 4 looks worse, @iga_swiatek needs to revamp her strategy against Ostapenko." One fan wrote: "This is a stunning upset!

Jelena just destroyed Iga in second and third set! Iga didn't try anything different."

Iga Swiatek talkes about the elimination at the US Open 2023 Swiatek explained at the press conference after the elimination at the US Open 2023: "She plays well against me.

I'm surprised that my level has dropped so drastically because usually, when it happens, I play badly at the beginning and then recover or just fix it. I really don't know what happened to my game, I suddenly lost control. I just have to look and understand why I started making so many mistakes." The 22-year-old then took stock of her season: "I'm definitely not happy with my performances in the Slams on hard courts, but overall I think I did a good job this vintage, remaining at a constant level.

I'm happy to have some time to train because I really need it, I miss it. Due to my injury after Indian Wells, I did two weeks of training before Stuttgart, plus one before the tour on grass. There is no time to do anything when you want to play every tournament.

Now I have time to reset everything, go home for a while and enjoy the tour from another perspective." Swiatek then said: "I have to do what Federer, Djokovic or Nadal did at that time: focus only on the tournaments, not on the rankings.

I don't normally look at numbers, even though I love them. I would like to extend this record a bit more, as a young man I always dreamed of breaking records but I already did it by becoming the first Polish tennis player to win a Grand Slam.

Of course, being number one was also brutal. When you lose it's normal to be sad but great players always come back to work hard. I feel like I'm making progress as a player despite this weird game. Now I have more skills. The hardest part of the season is over, a really tough and intense 2023."
