Jelena Ostapenko was very disappointed at the press conference after the match with Coco Gauff. She lost to the American 0-6, 2-6 and was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the US Open. Ostapenko doesn’t hide that she has a grievance with the organizers of the US Open tournament.

She finished the match late with Iga Swiatek in the fourth round and believes that she didn’t have time to rest. "I felt like I didn’t recover from that night. I got back to the hotel around 2 a.m. When you go to sleep at 5 or 6 a.m.

you need a few days just to recover. If I play a late night session, in 1 day I have to play at the same time or later, because you don’t have much time to recover. I think the schedule was better for her because she played much earlier the day I played a night session" Ostapenko said.

Jelena Ostapenko also revealed that she initially heard that her match against Coco Gauff would be scheduled for a night session. She was surprised to see the schedule next.

Their match was scheduled for 12:00 p.m. New York time. "When I asked the day before, I was pretty sure I’d play a night session because that’s what they told me. When the schedule came out, I saw I was playing 1st match.

I was like ‘Wow. That’s a little bit strange scheduling.’ I was surprised. Not in a good way" Ostapenko added. Coco Gauff was really happy during her on-court interview. "Last year I lost in the quarterfinals. I’m happy and ready to get back to work on the next one.

Honestly I didn’t feel comfortable at all during the match – even on the match points. It’s tough against her, because you can’t really be aggressive" Gauff said.
