Lipids in sport
Lipids, or fats, are essential for our bodies. They play an important role in energy expenditure and temperature control. They are also a source of energy for the muscular system.
Lipids can be of animal origin (saturated fatty acids), which are found in meat, butter, bacon, cheese and cold meats. They can also be of vegetables origin (unsaturated fatty acids), which are found in oil and oil seeds.
