The ball toss
As we begin this series of articles on the serve, the first thing we will look at is the ball toss. This is perhaps the most critical aspect of the entire stroke, since without it the whole rest of the motion is compromised.
I must admit that, in my personal experience as a player, I have never had this problem. Luckily, I have always had good control over my non-dominant hand. As a coach, however, I have come to realise what a challenge the toss is for most people.
