It hasn't been an ideal start to the new season for world No. 77 Nicolas Jarry but the Chilean insists he already sees the improvements in his game after adding coach Donte Bottini to his coaching staff. Bottini is a well-known and respected coach on the Tour, having coached 2014 US Open runner-up Kei Nishikori for nine years before the two split toward the end of this past season. "I just changed coaches for first time in all my career, so we're adapting things,” Jarry said, per the ATP Cup.
“I think we have improved a lot of things since the three to four weeks that I've been training with Dante. And I have to just be calm and trust the process that this will lead to be a better player." Jarry won his maiden ATP title at the Nordea Open in Bastad and achieved a career-high ranking of No. 38 in the world, before his form dropped and he finished the season without a match won since July.
