WTA QUEBEC CITY- Lauren Davis and Oceane Dodin to fight for maiden WTA title

Tennis- USA' qualifier Lauren Davis has reached final of the Coupe Banque Nationale in Quebec City after beating fellow qualifier Tereza Martincova in 3 sets, and in final she will face French teenage Oceane Dodin, who also won in 3 sets against another American Julia Boserup.

Dodin was appearing in her first ever WTA semifinal and faced World No.125 Boserup, seven ranks higher than her. Their only previous meeting was on the grasscourt of Eastbourne few months back, when Dodin had edged the American in 3 sets.

It was a similar match again, as both players broke each other twice in the first set, before they were tied at 4-4. Dodin got the third break and got the first set 6-4. Like Eastbourne, Boserup fought back and levelled it at one set all, after taking the second set 6-3 with just one break of serve.

But Dodin broke early in the third set and then got another break to win the third set 6-2 and reached her first WTA final. 22-year-old Davis stopped the 21-year-old Czech Tereza Martincova from reaching her first WTA final, as the American won 6-3,6-7(2), 6-2 and reached her second WTA final of the year and career.

Davis had reached Washington final in July, where she was beaten by Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium. SINGLES - SEMIFINALS
