Madison Keys reached the semifinals of the US Open 2023, the tournament where she reached the final way back in 2017, in the derby then lost to her countrywoman Sloane Stephens in an American derby. A lot of experience makes her a complicated opponent and now Madison will face the new number one Aryna Sabalenka.

No problem against Marketa Vondrousova, with the American tennis player commenting on this beautiful victory in the usual press conference after the match. She said: "After the great start I knew that she would grow and so I remained focused on continuing to do what I knew how to do and without getting nervous.

I never panicked and that helped. Things at the service went very smoothly and at one point it was almost funny. These fields are ideal for me, and I realized that I didn't need to overdo it. I was smart and my plan worked."

New match between Sabalenka and Keys, the two competed at Wimbledon where Aryna clearly triumphed: "She is now number one, but I will definitely try to review what happened at Wimbledon.

In the second set I remember I had some chances, some opportunities and even if I lost that match I played it. There are many positive aspects of that match and I will try to put them into practice again." Regarding the mentality to put into practice in matches like these, Aryna continued: "Before these matches I always had the right mentality, I tried to be balanced and avoid nervousness.

During the match you have ups and downs and this tires you more, for the last two months I have been balanced and doing well. I think that's a pretty good thing." And regarding her next opponent Madison concludes: "I think she's a phenomenal tennis player, there's a reason she'll be number one from Monday.

She's very strong and serves really well, she's a great opponent and tomorrow won't be easy at all. Not I can stay back and wait but I have to be more aggressive against her."
