Daniel Altmaier shares keys to staying focused and concentrated

German tennis player Daniel Altmaier insists that a player has to stay locked in throughout the whole match or he could find himself in a trouble. The 19-year-old seemed to be falling apart during his semi-final clash against Australia's Jason Kubler at last week's Burnie Challenger before he made a stunning comeback.

The world No. 256 was down 2-0 in the third set when he won six games to clinch a 6-3 2-6 6-2 win and reach the Burnie final. Altmaier said there was a "crucial point" in the third game as he felt that Kubler was starting to "take control" -- which led to the German urging himself to stop playing passive tennis.

"Something in tennis you need is to have a conversation with yourself and start thinking in the present because if your mind is not right then you lose focus and concentration," Altmaier said. Altmaier eventually failed to make it all the way in Burnie as he lost in the final to France's Stephane Robert.

Altmaier -- who kicked off his season in Burnie -- continues his Australian tour as he is due to feature at this week's Launceston Challenger. Also read: Injured Nick Kyrgios feels disappointed after Davis Cup loss
