Grigor Dimitrov hits an impossible shot: it's the most abnormal point of the year!

Grigor Dimitrov is playing a very good season, and he continues to demonstrate it as the tournaments go by. The Bulgarian tennis player may have missed a great result but he was able to return to the top 20 of the ATP world ranking and is asserting himself in the various competitions on all surfaces.

In Washington, the 32-year-old is pushing himself rather further in the main draw and gained access to the quarterfinals: thanks to the clear success against a dangerous Emil Ruusuvuori with a score of 6-4, 6-3, the Haskovo native guaranteed himself the opportunity to now face the French Ugo Humbert for a place in an important semifinal in an ATP 500.

During the match Dimitrov won a truly crazy exchange with a hit (fortuitous) never seen before: in fact the Bulgarian, to recover a forehand volley from the decidedly insidious Finn, stretched out and attempted a desperate forehand that remained incredibly on the court and mocked the opponent.

Big applause for Grigor's performance, who naturally apologized for the unwanted winner.

The No. 5 seed thus secured another positive result after a good grass-court season in the UK: the 32-year-old finished in a fourth round at Wimbledon, only to bow out at the hands of Denmark's Holger Rune, and a fourth final at Queen's after having also played the qualifiers.

This year Dimitrov boasts the final reached in Geneva and the semifinal in Rotterdam: on Friday, in the late Italian evening, he will play his chances to conquer another semifinal in an ATP 500 in Washington. Here is the video released by the ATP Tour on one of the 15 most beautiful of the whole day and of the event, and maybe one of the best point of the season:

We recall tennis players will move then to Canada, for the Canadia Open 2023. The there will be the time for the Western &Southern Open in Cincinnati.

The North American hard courts season will end in Flushing Meadows, for the 143 edition of the US Open. The Tours will move then between Europe and Asia, for the last Masters 1000 of the season and for the ATP Finals.
