Naomi Osaka shares honest reaction to Christopher Eubanks' perspective on tennis

Naomi Osaka suggests she can relate to Christopher Eubanks' newfound perspective on a tennis career, saying she feels the same now. Eubanks is one of the most positive stories from the ATP Tour this year as the American is having a breakthrough season at the age of 27.

After breaking into the top-100 for the first time in his career in April and also winning his first ATP title earlier this month in Mallorca, Eubanks also made his first Grand Slam quarterfinal at Wimbledon. After losing to Daniil Medvedev in five sets in the Wimbledon quarterfinal, Eubanks revealed his new perspective.

"So I'm just kind of enjoying the journey at this point. Wherever my career takes me, and I can continue to have the fun that I've been having, I can continue to work as hard as I've been working. Where I end up, I end up. But I think at this point, especially considering the fact that I spent five years hovering in the that 220 to 150 range and playing so many Challengers.

It's like, man, at this point, it's just the cherry on top. I'm enjoying myself, I'm having a great time. Having probably the most fun I've ever had in playing tennis. I'm just going to continue to ride this momentum out. We're going to see where it takes me," Eubanks said.

"Felt this except I had to take a nine-month break to realize it lol," Osaka captioned her Instagram Story. Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion, hasn't played since last September. This month, Osaka welcomed her first child.

Now, Osaka's focus turns on making a comeback at the start of the 2024 season in Australia. Osaka, 25, didn't enjoy much tennis in her last few years on the Tour. But in recent months, Osaka suggested it will be a completely different story as the Japanese insisted she will be very hungry and determined to achieve more success before retiring.
